Extending eVTOL Range and Optimizing Design with Beron Energy High-Density Stacked Batteries

The Challenge: Maximizing Energy Density and Space Utilization for Urban Air Mobility (UAM)

A next-generation eVTOL manufacturer needed to maximize energy capacity within the strict confines of its airframe to achieve commercially viable range. Conventional cylindrical cell packs offered poor space utilization and complicated weight distribution.

The Solution: High-Density, Shape-Flexible Stacked Batteries

The project utilized a high-voltage battery system based on Beron Energy’s Stacked Prismatic LFP Technology.

Core Component: Beron Energy High-Density Stacked Battery Pack (Model: B-SP400P)
System Capacity: 350 kWh
Key Advantage: 20%+ higher volumetric energy density. Customizable shape for optimal integration.
Technology: Stacked electrode structure for uniform current distribution and better thermal management.

The custom-shaped pack was seamlessly integrated into the aircraft’s platform, optimizing space and weight distribution while its low internal resistance supported high-power demands during takeoff and landing.

The Results: Unlocking the Range Threshold for eVTOL Commercialization

The battery solution was pivotal to the prototype’s successful maiden flight.

Range Breakthrough: Achieved a target range of over 250 km while maintaining safety margins.

Safety & Design: The stacked structure improved thermal consistency, and the LFP chemistry enhanced intrinsic safety. The flat, modular form factor provided unprecedented design freedom.
